Top 5 Favorite Concealers
The holy grail of cosmetics. The one product everyone is always trying to find “the one”. Really, they are all pretty great; you just have to find one that works for you! So I put together the top 5 I would recommend. If yours is not on here and you love it, keep using it. This absolutely isn’t an inclusive list. It also isn’t in any order of best or least.
All of these concealers are great for different reasons. Shape Tape of course is a cult favorite. It does the job. It can get a little messy for me, but I still will always gravitate to it if I need some serious coverage. It goes on easily and with my concealer application trick (see my blog post over at my wedding blog) it stays where it’s supposed to.
The other huge cult fav is Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. If you know you know.
The next one is iT Bye Bye under eye. It’s a bit more matte & a lot heavier. You only need a tiny pin drop of this and you should build from there. If it ever becomes too thick you can use an eye cream to thin it out. But man the coverage! So good!
Along that same lines, Bobbi Brown… corrector and/or full coverage concealer. The corrector will help adjust any darkness you have under eyes and then you can conceal and powder lightly:)
Lastly, and budget friendly is Maybelline Instant eye concealer. Truthfully, I've never even tried this. I’m just trusting my fellow makeup artists. They have talked about it’s ease of use and it’s coverage. It has staying power and for its price point you can’t go wrong. I think this would be an excellent choice for travel if you like it. If it’s lost you’re not out a $30 plus concealer.
There are a few honorable mentions…. I’m currently using BeautyCounter’s concealer. Unfortunately, they’ve had trouble with their applicator and have stopped their manufacturing of the product until they can perfect it. As much as this is a bummer I’m glad I grabbed one before they stopped production. When it’s back and you’d be interested in trying it let me know & I’ll be sure to let you know. We should see it back in stock about April! I’m holding out until then & using it only for occasions! lol
Benefit’s Boing Industrial strength concealer - listen this can be like concrete, but if you know how to use it, it's amazing. Feel free to set up a class if you have this product to find out how to use this if you have trouble.
Last but not least is a pro product, RCMA. You need a class most likely to learn to use this, but once you do you’ll be able to conceal, use it as a foundation or correct. It has large global colors! It’s a wax based product that stretches where you need it and warms with the heat of your skin. I keep this in my makeup kit for clients.
