Favorite Drugstore Makeup Products

I am a makeup snob.  I am… I can’t help it! However, I realize not everyone will listen to me when I want to use high end products. Most will use moderate and almost everyone will try a drugstore brand. I mean even I will. For under $15 you can’t go wrong.

Since I also want  everyone to use what I think is best (yes I have issue! haha) I thought I’d put together a list of great drugstore products for you!
Mascara - Loreal Voluminous - Carbon black & waterproof- The Voluminous Mascara is actually one of the only mascara’s I can use. I have extremely sensitive eyes & can’t wear use so many things on my eyes, so I can’t wear just anything unfortunately.  But most Loreal mascara’s I can. I like the Paradise mascara as well. It’s more wet than the Voluminous.  Great brown color too.

Concealer - Maybelline -Instant Age Rewind - this concealer has a great applicator. It’s simple to apply. So many people rave about it. It’s great for travel as well, because is one of those products that does the job, but if you lost it you wouldn’t be upset.

Maybelline Tattoo Gel Eyeliner- Maybelline tattoo eyeliner’s are awesome! I used the gel pot liner forever & even have kept an extra in my kit as a just in case. It’s so similar to the MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack.  This line of liners are great! And surprisingly I can wear them!

Brow - NYX fill & fluff brow pencil - So far with NYX i haven’t found anything you can really go wrong with. I mean they aren’t pro quality, however, they will wear well and have such a wide range. They have several other brow products I really love as well. This pencil gives you a fluffy, soft brow look. Yet, they have a mascara that will give you a defined, “boyfriend” brow and a pomade also. As I said there NYX line is a great line. I haven’t tried everything, but those products I have I’ve like them all.

Blush - Milani dupe for nars & NYX cream blush! The cult favorite blush Orgasm by Nars is found as a great dupe in Milani blush Dolce Pink. Milani has some incredible blushes. I have the Romantic Rose in matte, yet it give a dimension to it.  I am 48. I don’t have a lot of lines or wrinkles, but I do have texture. I work pretty hard to keep my skin healthy & use a fair amount of skincare and I always have.

Ok that was difficult. I’m kidding. I have purchased and used all of the above. I may use a few cosmetics from the drugstore, but you’re not going to catch me using any skincare from there. It has too many fillers, too many ineffective products and and other things that are just not worth putting on my skin.  I would rather spend a few more dollars and make sure my skin looks the way it does.  I am not bragging when I say I look a decade younger than I am. It is not for any other reason than I have taken care of my skin since I was 16 years old. I have routinely had a skincare regimen.

A lot of time people do not want to spend the money on skincare. The sticker shock of skincare is hard to swallow.  But please hear this, skincare isn’t like cosmetics. You are not purchasing skincare monthly (unless it’s drugstore products). If I spend $150-$300 on a one time purchase for a set of skincare. So cleanser, toner, eye cream, night cream, day cream, maybe a serum in there. You will buy these products maybe twice a year. No more than 3 times.

If you are spending $50 of skincare at the grocery store and youre getting it monthly you are spending the same amount per year and they are not as effective. So just toss that money in the trash.

How did this post end up as a skincare post???? Ooops! But let me help you choose the right products for you! Schedule a Personal Shopping class with me! Head over to my calendar now!
